Meet Mary
Mary is a former competitive badminton player and recreational long-distance runner. Her goal as a physiotherapist is to help others to reduce their fear of movement and to empower them with self-management strategies to live their best lives. She enjoys celebrating the small victories with each client while working towards achieving big goals, whether that be playing with grandkids pain free or returning to high-level sport.
Mary holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary, as well as a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta. Her personal battle recovering from multiple traumatic shoulder dislocations was less than ideal, which ignited a dedication towards helping others to experience a more positive recovery process.
Her areas of specialization include shoulder, post-surgical knee, and running injuries. Treatment sessions typically include a combination of the following, based on each client’s unique needs:
- Patient Education
- Hands-On Techniques (IASTM, manual therapy, repeated motions, end-range isometrics)
- Progressive Loading Exercise Program
- Blood Flow Restriction Training
Outside of the clinic, Mary can be found hiking, weightlifting, exploring different cuisines to fill her bottomless pit, as well as playing hide and seek with her rambunctious kitty (self-proclaimed lion), Django!
Mary’s fluency in both English and Cantonese enables her to offer services in both languages.
