Vestibular Rehabilitation
An effective approach to relieving symptoms related to dizziness, vertigo and other inner ear/balance disorders
Vestibular Rehabilitation
Vestibular rehabilitation utilizes an exercise-based program, designed by a physiotherapist with advanced training, to improve balance and reduce problems related to dizziness/imbalance.
Patients typically referred for vestibular rehabilitation therapy are those diagnosed with dizziness, headaches, nausea, falls, visual disturbances, balance impairments, neck- related dizziness, or benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV).
Dizziness can be associated with a variety of causes including inner ear dysfunctions; a side effect of medications; or a sign of neck dysfunction.
Evidence has shown that vestibular rehabilitation can be effective in improving symptoms related to many dizziness (inner ear/balance) disorders.
