Concussion Rehabilitation
Concussion Rehabilitation
Concussion is a mild traumatic injury to the brain caused by a blow to the head, often in sport but can result from a fall or a motor vehicle accident.
As every concussion is unique and can present with a variety of symptoms, physiotherapists have the knowledge and skill to guide you through safe return to work, daily living and sport.
Headaches, neck pain, dizziness and balance problems are the most common concussion symptoms treated by physiotherapists. We develop a treatment plan tailored to you. This includes treating your neck, giving you appropriate exercises and providing education and advice on graduated progressive recovery, activity modification and rest.
Vestibular therapy is also often indicated for associated balance problems.
