Orthotics
Orthotics describes a category of custom-made insoles that help accommodate or correct flaws of the feet. A qualified professional may prescribe foot orthotics to improve or prevent certain acute conditions; these devices can greatly improve comfort by altering foot, ankle, knee and hip alignment. Orthotics are commonly prescribed for reducing painful symptoms of plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, shin splints and Morton’s neuroma, to name a few.
Orthotics in Motion has been working with THE Downtown Sports Clinics for many years. Patrick Bergevin, certified Pedorthist and owner of Orthotics in Motion, sees clients Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at THE Downtown Sports Clinics – TD Square. His 45-minute assessment includes a thorough gait analysis and range-of-motion testing (passive and active), followed by plaster casting of your feet.
