THE Downtown Sports Clinics have many payment options to accommodate all of our clients. The following payment options are accepted:
In an effort to keep our fees competitive and your balances low, we ask that you make your payment at the time of service.
Many clients are eligible for rehabilitation services through insurance benefits such as extended health care, worker’s compensation, or motor vehicle insurance. We cannot guarantee eligibility or the extent of the coverage by your insurance plan. You are ultimately responsible for any outstanding fees for services you receive at THE Downtown Sports Clinics.
Many clients who attend physical therapy and massage have private insurance through work, a spouse, or personal insurance plans like Blue Cross. When booking an appointment, it is helpful for you to identify the services and extent of coverage your plan provides. Although you do not need a doctor’s referral to have physiotherapy, some insurance plans require a doctor’s referral in order to claim your treatments.
There are several payment options available for treatment, and you will receive an official receipt for the services you have received. Please keep your receipts. You will need to send the receipt and physiotherapist’s credentials to your insurance company in order to be reimbursed.

When starting physiotherapy, you will also need to be assessed by a medical doctor who is required to complete a WCB report. You will need to complete a workers report and send it to WCB. Your assessment and initial treatment will be covered by WCB; however, further treatments must be approved by WCB. If approved, the cost of your treatment will be billed directly to WCB. If your claim is not accepted, the fees incurred after the assessment and initial treatment, will be your responsibility. If your claim is not accepted, check your extended health care insurance for reimbursement.

Since October 01 2004, the motor vehicle insurance program of Alberta has allowed direct billing through section B insurance (when the client selects to be treated under the 10 or 21 visit protocol, depending on the injury). If you choose not to be treated under the motor vehicle insurance protocol, fees can be claimed under your extended health care plan.
